Jamaican artiste Tessanne Chin became the first artist from american talent show, “The Voice” to perform at the US White House.
The soulful singer is gearing up to perform at the “Women of Soul” concert in the White House, hosted by First Lady Michelle Obama.
Tessanne was recently in Trinidad and Tobago for the recently concluded Carnival season, and was also a featured act at Kess the Band’s event titled “Tuesday on the Rocks”. But as the old saying goes “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”.
Shortly after having a fun time reuniting with friend in Trinidad, including former Project Runway winner Anya Ayong Che, the Jamaican songstress made her way back to work and continues to spread her Caribbean humble vibe every where she goes.
Tessanne, will be sharing the stage with divas like of Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle, Jill Scott, Ariana Grande, Janelle Monae and Melissa Ethridge. Just the mention of her name among these strong women in music is enough to make the Caribbean community proud.
The purpose of the concert is to highlight the struggles of women in American soul music.
