Twitter fans threw a “Twitter Tantrum” upon hearing the results of the Miss America pageant. Last evening, an Indian American has made history by becoming the first of her race to be crowned with the Miss America title. This didn’t sit well with some citizens who took to Twitter and other social media sites to vent their disappointment at the judges decision.
Last evening, Nina Davuluri was crowned Ms America, a few minutes after social media fans went wild and began bashing the winner. It was so bad that bloggers and media sites posted their views on the situation. In one instance Fox News’ Todd Barnes went as far as to tweet: “The liberal Miss America judges won’t say this — but Miss Kansas lost because she actually represented American values.” Some of the haters even believed that Nina Davuluri was an Arab and made reference to her as a hijacker.
“According to CNN, thousands of viewers were upset that the new Miss America wasn’t actually “American.” (Although, it bears repeating that Miss Davuluri is American, and of Indian descent.) ”
Despite the negative publicity, some came out in defense of Ms Davuluri stating that the derogatory responses were racist and inappropriate.
Let aside the fact that those snow albinos are calling all Arabs terrorists, they can’t tell an Indian from an Arab hahahahah! #MissAmerica
