A two year old baby girl was beaten to death and taken to the hospital by her alleged abuser.
According to police, Kimora Roopnarine was picked up from daycare at Enterprise Chaguanas, Trinidad W.I. around 4 pm by a male relative. He took her home and that’s where it all occurred.
“Sometime later, the man rushed Kimora to the Chaguanas Health Facility. He told doctors after he put Kimora down at home and later checked on her, he discovered her struggling for breath. Kimora was pronounced dead on arrival at the health centre.
Doctors immediately contacted the police. The man, said to be in his twenties, left the dead child at the health centre and disappeared. Up to press time, no one know where he was. “
Dr Hughvon Des Vignes at the Forensic Science Center, St James revealed that Kimora suffered blunt force trauma to her chest including three broken ribs. The injuries were consistent with a savage beating.
This latest incident of abuse against an infant will not fall to the sidelines as Superintendent Johnny Abraham sent out a strict warning to her suspected murderer:
“I want to send a message to that monster who carried out this brutal act on an innocent child. Surrender to us. Surrender or if you fail to do so, you will be hunted down. You will be found. You will be brought to justice. “These kinds of incidents will not be tolerated as long as I sit here,” said Superintendent Johnny Abraham last night.
This issue of child abuse and neglect seem to be a reoccurring problem especially in recent times. Some blame it on our evolution while others say the abusers “just evil” Due to the current high cost of living, some mother are now being forced to work and even maintain two jobs in order to provide for their family. Thus leaving their children at the hands of potential abusers.

There are many outreach programs that deal with situations of abuse especially towards minors across the globe. Contact the relevant authorities and have them intervene. One phone call from a concerned neighbor, class mate, teacher or friend can save a child’s life.
