Looks like Vybes Kartel will walk a free man after all.
Today at the Home Circuit Court in Jamaica, Judge Bryan Sykes denied a motion by the prosecution to have a witness statement be entered into evidence.
After all the controversy behind this high profile case, it seems like the judge has heard enough. After three days of hearing arguments from both sides Justice Sykes told prosecutors that he is not convinced they made enough effort to locate the witness, who is believed to be in hiding.
Now this is the sticky part, though the self proclaimed World Boss may be freed why is the witness hiding? Is it to protect himself from the police or Kartel? Nonetheless the case is in his favor.
The jury will be back in court tomorrow where the case will continue. The prosecution will offer no more evidence and the judge will direct the jury to return a not guilty verdict. Kartel is currently on trial for the murder of Barrington “Bossie” Burton.
Kartel fans world wide must be celebrating now, just last month Reggae icon Buju Banton was feed of gun charges. However has to serve out a sentence and will be out by 2019.
